Title: Two New Electric Stunters with Bob Hunt's Caprice Wing

After designing and building my first built up plane using Bob Hunt's Caprice foam wing and moments, I was so impressed with the performance I had to build another. Bob's write-up on how to sheet the wing is perfect, especially when you make the molded leading edge caps and add sheeting to them. It was my first attempt but found it fairly easy.

I recommend this method to anybody that wants to build an electric built up plane for the first time: Pick a proven wing and moments then design the rest of the plane around them. The result is a great flying plane with your own personal touch.

Thanks Dennis and Jim --- I will be building another next year similar to Illusion with a different color scheme.
Part of the building techniques and control system used on Sorcerer were published in the current issue of Stunt News under Buddy Weider's column for District II.

How about a little setup info? Okay ... how about some detail, too. #^
I think this size ship has tremendous potential for those who want a good flyer that doesn't require the "airplane vehicle" to run out and grab a quick flight or two.

As far as set up information goes, both planes have Exceed Rocket 3020-860 motors from Hobby Partz.
The timer is a Will Hubin FM2A which is present to run in Governor Mode with a remote start button and RPM pod.

I tried to set them up so they would fly almost identical.  The average flying weight (including battery) is 53.8 ounces.  Lines are 60' eye to eye.  Lap time is 5.2 seconds with a total flight time of 5:30.  RPM's around 10,100.
Prop is 11x5.5 Pusher.  Speed controls are Pheonix 45 and ICE 50.  Batteries are Nano-Tech 3300's from Hobby King.

As far as details go, I order Caprice Foam wings from Bob Hunt and ask for equal panels of 23 1/2" with wing spar and trailing edge caps installed. After adding wing tips, the total span is 51".

Both planes are covered with Ultracote and Monokote trim sheets.
