Turnigy Motors and Noise
« on: July 28, 2010, 10:04:04 PM »
I have been flying with turnigy motors or a while - as budget dictated such -  but after flying with a hyperion motor (a friends) and a scorpion - I have realsied just how much noise the turnigies make..

even just  turning the can over- the turnigy makes a lot of noise where the Scorpion and AXI (i have one of those now too) make hardly any at all....

I think I am going to use better quality ones from now on - just to keep things quiet..

Wynn,
What kind of noise are you hearing? Also is there any rough feel to the bearings as you turn the motor? I have a Trunigy that is in my Stuka and it doesn't seem like it will be different from the AXI I have in my profile. Do you hear the noise if the motor is out of the ship. My AXI in the profile does make noise if I spin it while mounted in the ship. The fuse kinda amplifies the normal sound. You might have a bad bearing in the motor that is make the majority of the noise.

Best,                  DennisT

it is SOO Bad -  HA HA......  I was just commenting of the difference in quality really the turnigy is quite noisy just hand turning it - it is not  the bearings tho - they seem fine......I did notice on one startup that the motor "screeched" for a split second and then started to run - maybe something is binding???

from outside the circle- you could not really tell that this particular motor is electric....my other tunigies are OK...
