I received my Turnigy Accucell-6 charger on Thursday and have been trying it out on various batteries. It seems to work fine . . . but the Balance feature does not appear to work.
I have been testing it on 2 of my 1600 mAh 3s LiPo batteries I bought about 18 months ago. On both of these it gives an error "cell voltage" after about 30 seconds in Balance mode, yet the indicated cell voltages are 4.18, 4.18 and 4.21 which seem pretty close to me
Does anyone else have one of these? Am I doing something wrong?

Charles,
I'm no expert (far from it) but your batteries appear to be more or less fully charged. Maybe if you discharge one of them somewhat and then try the charger in balance mode, it will then do a proper charge and balance.

Thanks
I'll try that

At what rate are you trying to charge them? You could turn down the charge rate to something like .2A then try it again.

I have tried various rates
What I did in the end was charge each cell up individually via the balance connector. I'll keep thinking about it

If they are already charged up, the charger may not want to have them put back on. So the complaint may be that they are already charged.

The charger may be cranky about seeing greater than 4.20 on any one cell???
Let us know how that partial discharge/recharge works.

I'll try that tomorrow
