Tom Morris' motor mounts?
« on: May 25, 2012, 11:50:35 AM »
It's my understanding Tom Morris is building profile electric motor mounts.  I thought I saw some pictures of them somewheres.  Does anyone remember where?

Also what is the best way to contact Tom.     ???

John,
See Ty's post on the Profile Caviler that Tom Morris had at the GA meet. Good pictures of how its installed. The mount is for a front mount system. It is a 3/16" plywood circle that is milled out for motor cooling, drilled for motor bolts and screwed to the mount crutch. It can be used in full fuse or profile ships. The mount is very strong and does not require an external rear bearing for  solid motor support (once the nose is shaped and all is final fit I CA the whole ring to harden it). Its a very good product.

Best,          DennisT

If you want to go Hi-Tech get a G-10 laminate mount from Bob Hunt.  $12 if I remember right.
Cut using CNC water jet, same precision as laser cut balsa parts.

No, but I'm sure Hunt does.
