Timers

Vincent Corwell:
Hi all
4S Lipo 2100 TT x2
AXI2826/10
12x6 Black Master prop
Brodak Legacy
55 Ounces
JPM timer

Programmed the timer at home :
40 seconds idle
3 Mins @8000 rpm
2 1/2 mins @9800rpm

charged the batteries, tested twice all perfect , no overheating

At field Sat morn
65seconds idle ?
took off in gusty conditions, circa 8-10mph wind
power was barely enough to keep off the ground
I gues about 5000 rpm, ran 5 1/2 mins did not feel any
boost at 3 mins.
Sat night : fitted ST51 and flew really well Sun morn

I know the power train is able but programming the timer is a pain
have not yet had time to charge batteries and check all again at home
But I reckon I will eventually get it all together

Vincent - If the math works but not the power train, you may be trying to pull more current than the discharge rating of the batteries will allow.  10C batteries are unusable for stunt, if this is what you have ebay them to an R/C flyer and buy a 20C pack.  Learned this one the hard (expensive) way.  Tom Hampshire

Hi Vincent,

I agree with you about programing the timers until Will Moore showed me how to do it without the motor.

Vincent Corwell:
Hi Linheart

thank you for that, does that invovle an RC servo?

I read the method for that somewhere, probably in the
instructions that came with the timer
but dont understand how to use this.

be happy to buy
a servo to set up my power train.

Will any Futaba servo do?

Vincent

Vincent Corwell:
Hi Linheart

beautiful finish on your aircraft by the way

From a kit or is this scratch built?

I would be reluctant to fly a plane that good, still
learning the pattern!!

Thanks again

Vincent
