Title: Three conversion kits for profiles
Post by: Pat Johnston on February 13, 2017, 09:41:29 AM
I just finished up the ACAD work which combined on one sheet three electric conversion kits for profile models.  The first one is for an equivalent 25-35 power package such as on the Shark 402.  The second is for a 35-40 setup such as on the Magician.  The third is for a 40-46 setup such as on my Shark 560.  These three cover the ranges of 400, 500 and 560 inch planes.  I can make larger ones if needed, but this covers the bread and butter of most profile setups.  I'll attach a PDF file so you can gander what it looks like.  The setup is clean and relatively slim.  It uses a Hacker 15 X-mount to keep it slim.  I cut four layers of 1/32" plywood and laminate it together to make up the X-mount.  This is a lighter mount but plenty strong enough for our purposes.  As a Crass Comercial message I sell the whole setup for $15 plus $2 postage.  All parts are laser cut and an instruction sheet is included.  I have been excited to install these on my planes and am having a ball doing the electric thing.

Hi Pat-
Do you still have a source to buy the CC Talon 35's from?
Thanks in advance.

I haven't looked at the CC site for a little while.  Brodak sells a 40A unit, also.  Could be a reasonable replacement.  Anyone?

I went into Castle Creations site and the Talon 35 is available for $47.60.  If you want one suitable for a 25 sized plane (like a Ringmaster) the Talon 25 is good at $38.26.  The Talon 25 is less expensive and .35 ounces lighter.  Good bargain.
