Over the past few days I have been pondering going back to all electric and selling off my glow stuff.
I fly alot of 1/2a and have not yet had any experience with 1/2a electric setups for control line.
Do the electric setups for 1/2a perform as well as their glow counterparts?

I'll put it to you this way. I've been experimenting with a half A baby flight streak that I built over thirty years ago. I took a black widow off it and put an electric set up on it. I'm never going back!!

Bud,
I have an electric 1/2 A Baby Ringmaster (Pat King kit patdk@aol.com) and it works fine. My setup is listed in the "List your setup" at the top of this forum.
I don't think you can go wrong.

I have one of his kits on the shelf.
I was planning on putting electric on it.

Bud,
I started last fall to look into electrics, particularly for 1/2A models. I have had good luck with motors froms hobbypartz.com, namely the the Alpha 300 series and 370 series. So far I have flown two 1/2A's and a Flying Clown with electrics ( the clown is only 6.5 ozs without motor and is almost a 1/2A) and like them very well. I am just starting a new plane and plan to use the Alpha 370-1360. It is a Curtiss yp-37 with about 130 sq in. I've attached a copy of the drawing for your reference.
