SV 11 Set Up

O/K ,I Don't know if this is going to work so here goes .
Model is a Brodak SV 11 ARFI replaced the leadouts ,wheels are narrow electric 2-1/2 in and the cowl is held on with magnets.
I have a baffle in the cowl inlet at aprox 45% pushing air onto the motor and a 1 in round exhaust with a cowl vent to remove hot air from the motor.
I have no cooling problems with either battery or controller.
 I have fitted a battery isolator as the tank/battery area is very tight,this allows the model to be set up for flight at any time.
 O/K motor is a EMAX 2832/05 960 KV this is identical to the Brodak motor ,I have 2 of these also.
controller is CC lite ice 50 amp in fixed rpm mode 8850
Will Hubin Fm 9 timer
prop is 12x6 EP APC
battery is 3700 Rhino uses 2380 at home almost sea level 2250 at Dalby
 spinner is from Dude R/C
 lines are 66 ft ielet to ielet .
lap time is 5.6sec .Noel.

Warren , All,  Motor is from HImodel___China___ Hong Kong $29
 controler , spinner , isolator ,props ,wheels   R/C Dude hobbies.
 Will Hubin timer  .
batteries  Hobby King  .
Peter Pine told me he can get whatever APC props we need ,just let him know,He also has wheels.
 SV 11 direct from Brodak  Normal price plus $70 post to Australia,BARGAIN.Noel.

NICE sounding set-up.  The line length, you said 56', that sounds short.  Did you mean 66'?

Yes Dennis ,Your right It' actually 69 ft 6 in centre of model to handle grip. Noel.

Frank, I have 2 really good cameras and neither will talk to my computer at the moment, I am almost at the point of buying a cheapie just for modeling.If you look at Bob Branch's excellent article you will get some good tips.I used longer standoffs for the motor mounting and made my mounting bulkhead from 2 pieces of 1/8 ply laminated together and Swiss cheesed for air flow .appart from mounting your switch and isolator if you use one just make sure you can get your battery in and out easily as there is not a lot of room.My top cowl is held on with 2 magnets but can be glued on if you use long stand offs,This will allow you to maneuver the motor in and out .I used this top cowl as an easy way to check motor temp.In flying stunt I have had quite a few models over the years,some good some bad some really good some really bad,I think no matter what level you fly I think if you put this combination together STRAIGHT you will have a great combination for a reasonable amount of money,I am not stingy but at the moment I couldn't go past this set up at any level.Just practice more than I do. By the way I am using 18 tho lines as I have been doing for some time as i think I have better response as well as safety for very little extra drag .Noel.

I hope you dont mind, I put your model in the "List your setup" thread for future reference. :)

I think I will rip the Saito 62 out of my ARF Strega and put a Turnigy 42-50 SK in and see how she goes.  I'll use a ICE LITE 50 and a 13 x 6 EP prop.

Thanks Warren,That's where I originally wanted it to go but being computer illiterate it didn't make it.I don't think you will be disappointed electrifying the Strega,at least it will make a great start.I WONT be going back  to slimes ,except maybe for some profile fun flyer's.When is Musselbrook Warren ?Getting really old and forgetfull, hope the water has gone down by then,CYCLONES coming now.Regards ,Noel.

Hunter Valley Championships are on 5th and 6th March.  We are going to have a night scramble again too!   Can't wait.

Hope you are handling the weather up there.  We were so lucky to get away with a successful Nationals after what has happened there since!

Thanks Warren It,s been pretty bad,I am O/K where I am but it's heart breaking when you see the loss of life and drama  so many people have been through and all the cleaning up that has to be done when it eventually goes away,I helped clean up after 74 but I am in no condition to do that sort of work again.We have been told it will take at least 2 yrs and Billions.Regards Noel.
