strega reborn
« on: June 05, 2013, 08:06:48 AM »
hi All
Many years ago i built Strega ,it was a Windy style stunt ship with a Saito 72 four stroke motor ,it topped the scales at 74 ounces flew great but when i got the electric bug it was put out to grass as it was too heavy, this year instead of building a new stunt ship i decided to build a new fuz ,one of the pictures below shows the front end of the fuz ,oil soaked it weighs 6 ounces and the whole fuz when made in 2000 was only 7.5 ,

power is supplied by a MVVS motor 8.0/950  ,at only 210 grams with the power of a 75 i/c motor should do well

i won a major comp last month with i believe the first electric with retracts

Question has anyone got one and can you tell me about it

Nice Strega, cool shirt, GREAT trophy!

Got confused, did you fly the Strega converted for retracts & electric to witn that cup - or was that another bird?

I used an ARF Strega to develop the big power system for Brodak - 80 oz,  Arrowind 3526, 6Sx2800.  The motor doesn't know the airplane is there, but my SHOULDER always knows!  Gave it to  my brother as an incentive to build something to replace it - he has not yet.
