Title: Stevens Aeromodel "Scram!"
Post by: Robert Jones on January 09, 2011, 03:43:26 PM
Saw this online (Maybe here?) and I decided I must have one!   #^
Built yesterday, covered today. The laser cut parts fit together flawlessly and was a lot of fun to build.

Bare bones:

(Almost) Ready to fly! Only need to loop and crimp the leadouts:

My only deviation from plans (a building guide really) was to widen the battery hole about 1/8" so that I can use a few Kokam batteries I had lying around. I went with the power package as recommended.

Power Setup:

S.A. Suppo Park 300 Brushless Outrunner
S.A. 10A ESC
E-Flight Timer
Thunderpower 11.1V 350mAh LiPo
And
Kokam 11.1 340 mAh LiPo
GWS 6X3 Prop

Covering is AeroLITE Red on the wing and Monocote Black on the tailboom and motormount.

Hooked up all the electric "stuff" and it tested just fine. Too cold here in Pennsylvania for a test flight, might have to wait until VSC in March to fly it!

Here it is at the Stevens AeroModel website if you want to check it out:

Nice plane! A friend of mine is itching to get the Scram for himself but I just can't get him to pull the trigger, hopefully he will soon.

I'm in the process of building the SA Ringrat 250 and I have to say it's a joy to build, the precision of these kits is wonderful. I sure wish they would release some larger C/L planes, a Ringrat 500 would be very cool and I'd buy one in a heartbeat! Would love to see a Scram 250 too!

Can't wait to hear your flight report on your Scram, good luck!
