The first flight's of my new profile were pretty much uneventful. My WAG rpm at about 9200 gave me a 5.3 sec lap time which is great for now. I balanced it right on the suggested spot and have since added over an ounce of nose weight to correct the over sensitive pitch rate. I got a pattern on the third flight after getting the wings level. It still needs some nose weight but overall it will be a keeper.

Yes, I flew at Auburn yesterday about 11:00 AM. Hardly a breath of air and warm enough to take my coat off. I'm looking forward to some good profile wars among us bottom feeders, should be fun! As I'm typing this I'm waiting for the glue to dry on the 2.5 ounces of lead I'm gluing into the front of this thing. It seems almost impossible to get the things (electrics) nose heavy. I'm also going to change to a 4S battery.

Great looking bird and a great flight report. Especially like yours & Alan R's descriptions of the trim flights: 2-3 "short tanks" to get the basic trim and balanced close enough to fly, then full pattern on the first full length flight.

Ship looks great. A couple questions: have you tried to find a way to move the battery forward to eliminate the nose weight? What is the weight? unless it is more then 64 oz you could use 0.015" lines.

Dennis, I like to use .018 lines, this one was 57 oz. for first flights. The battery is as far forward as possible, it is a 5S battery and is only 290 gr. As of now it has a Plettenberg 20-16 in the nose which adds another 30 grams where I need it and it will take the 5S power I'm stickin' to it. The Plettenberg is a 720KV motor instead of the 870 E-Flite that was in it. This isn't a small model at 650 sq. in. Total weight at this time is not an issue. I'll find out tommorrow where I stand.

Mark, so far it is about .5 ahead of the slippery version (Pete Peterson's). Also the leadouts are kinda back, follows suite with others.
