The winter fun fly where it was to debut was a washout (very high winds) so I didn't get to fly it. Our weather is just now warming up so hopefully I will get out in the next couple of weeks and see how it does. I will be sure to post the results.

Good old Minnesota. And this was a very mild winter for us. About two months of nasty weather, rather the normal 4 to 6.

Hey Larry,  some parts of northern Minnesota still have snow this time of year, when it is a normal year.

Unfortunately, the first time I tried to fly it, it was much too windy, it came in on the lines and when it hit, it broke the shaft in the motor. After being unable to locate a replacement shaft, I had to redo it with a different motor (cut off the nose a half inch in the process) and rigged it with a spectrum receiver rather than a timer so I can ease into the power for the first few flights with adjustable throttle till I figure out what prop/rpm works best. Hopefully, I will get it in the air this month.

Success at last. Cut off the nose 1/2 inch and put the new motor on. Taped on the receiver and headed for the field this morning. Not knowing how fast it was going to be, launced at about 3/4 throttle. Immediately saw it could use more and advanced to full throttle. Was getting a little over 4 second laps on 40 foot lines, and it was very solid. Not sensitive at all. Did loops, inverted, inverted loops, and squares with no problem. Throttled it back to idle, and not much of a glide. Unfortuately flipped over on landing and broke the tail off. I'm going to make a new set of gear that are a little longer and sit further forward for the grass. Otherwise, I am very satisfied. My flying partner said it appeared to fly very well, but sure looks different in the air.
