Yesterday we took the SS 350 out for another test session. As before, we controlled the esc remotely by an R/C receiver and transmitter. For trimming out a new plane, this is a seriously good technique!
Anyway, the plane shows some serious promise. It still has a bit of a warp, and the control horn is too short. Speed is good at 4.9 second laps, and maneuverability is good, as is the end of maneuver dampening. This baby will be able to fly as good a pattern as the pilot is able to command.
Andy Borgogna requested that I draw it up, and he built it from prototype laser-cut parts from RSM. I think we have a winner! It is likely that RSM will produce a kit. I don't have photos of the 350, but it is a direct scale-up from the 180 sq.in. version in the photo.
