Setup for Jr. Flite Streak - opinions?
« on: December 14, 2014, 02:10:39 PM »
Hi all -
My next project will be a Jr. Flite Streak.  I'm trying to piece together a system and have found very few .15 size examples on these forums.
RSM has a full turnkey outfit, but doesn't provide much in specs for the motor or ESC.

Motor: Turnigy Park480 1320 kV
ESC: Castle Creations Phoenix Edge Lite 50 (A bit big, but I like the governor features, and 50A is as small as they come!)
Timer: Hubin FM-9 (already have it and a programmer, so this is fixed)
Battery: 2200 mAh LiPo 3-cell 45C
Prop: 9x5

Thanks for any input!
Keith

I've been told that you can run the Castle talon 35 if you need to go smaller in the ESC. There are always used phx 35's up for sale on the RC boards and new ones do occasionally become available. Looks like you have the rest pretty figured out. If you wanted to play with props you should be able to use an 8x6 instead of the 9x5.

Right,

What William says. If you don't need the data logging feature the Talon ESC has the same governor features as the Edge or the Phoenix (discontinued but still around on Ebay etc.).
