Title: Question for Will Moore
Post by: Allan Perret on June 30, 2011, 09:53:47 PM
I just learned that RSM will be kitting your Thundercloud.  So I went back and read the article in Jan.2010 Control Line World, and saw where you planned to also build an electric version at some point.  Was wondering if that ever happened.  I dont remember seeing anything about the electric, but only been reading this "Amp'ed Up" section for about a year now..

Allen, I have it listed in "List your set-up" at the top of this part of the forum.  Thunder Cloud is toward the end.
Also responded to the Open Forum section about the bird.  Flies equally well in its electric variant.  The airframe can carry
some weight and still perform well, as long as the power to weight ratio is strong.
Not to brag, but the airplane won the Mass Cup last year in its electric format

The Mass Cup award, was that for the flying competition or the pretty plane award, or both ?

Hi Allan,

Not Will, but I can answer that question since I have won the Mass Cup too.

The winner of each class has a flyoff to see who can better their best flight score.  The one who betters their score the most wins. H^^

I'll second that.

The award is for performance, not looks,
although the bird looks great, IMHO.

LL~. I won the Mass cup in 2008 when I was flying a brodak smoothie ARC. I was also in intermediate, and that was my last contest in intermediate
