ESC Schulze
« on: August 14, 2011, 12:43:51 PM »
Well the test flight of Ampura was !!!!

It seams that I have lap. times of 3.8-4.7  To fast Hubin timer says that RPM is 7300K but tac. says 10.000K The trim is good in flight and power on/off the only thing I can think of is the setting on the ESC. Motor is Platt 25-12
but I will try a 20-12 lighter. Prop. is APC 13x4.5 EP ??? ???

How many poles/magnets are in your motors and what is set in your programmer. Does it say Schulze high or low?
If the motor has 10 poles and the programmer box says Schulze high the motor will run a high RPM which means you have a older programmer. You need a new programmer chip from Will that will be programmed for Schulze low then your RPMs should be close enough. Schulze high works with 14 pole motors such as Hacker provided the right micro-switch
on the ESC is changed.

Thanks I found out what was wrong the ESC was set on high, I set it on off and try it and it works fine, the programmer is just a few RPM different.  Went  to a 20-12 Platt. instead of the ,25-12, I think it will be just fine, will try it in the morning. Still will use the 13x4.5 EP to sort it out, later I will try the 13.5.5 WEP and see if any improvement. Battery will try 4 cells and 5 cells size an weight.... #^ <=

Larry;

I sent you an e-mail:

Use these settings - they were on the "Hints for F2BVersion"
sheet that came with  the Shultze F2B ESC.

Dip Switches:

1.   off

2.   on

3    on   (off-no brake,  on-brake)

4   off    (off-low rpm,  on- high rpm)

5   on    (  off-timing hard,  on-timing soft)

6    off    (Freq.  9 / 16 khz)

These are the settings to use for any of the Orbit motors.

The Hubin timer"s program box rpm setting are not what the motor
is doing if you tach it.   Hubin reads higher.  If it is a lot higher, you might
need a newer chip for the program box. Speak to Hubin about it.
Otherwise, you can still use it as a reference for increasing and
decreasing rpm

Let me know if this helps
