Props Two'fer deal?
« on: January 15, 2013, 01:11:51 PM »
OK, I'm prolly going to show my e-ignorance, but what the heck, if it help's y'all, mission accomplished.

One of my standard flea-bay searches turned up an interesting result. 2 props for one price, one pusher, one tractor. Yeah, they are from china, but they look interesting. And just think of the friendships you can start? Need a pusher? Give the tractor to a friend flying IC. Need a tractor? Give the pusher to an e-buddy. For the price, they are still cheaper than anything out there in carbon.

All kidding aside, these appear to be made for large quad copters, but come in some interesting diameter and pitches.

One of the objections I keep hearing for carbon copies of APC props is the carbon props are too heavy or draggy and eat up more battery capacity.
These look thin enough to perhaps not drain your batteries so much as other carbon props and might be worth playing with?

Here's a 13x4:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/13x4-Carbon-Fiber-Propeller-Set-CW-CCW-/130810146916?ssPageName=ADME:B:WNASIF:US:1123

and a 13x6.5:

If you look at sellers other items, he's got a whole bunch other sizes as well.
Anywho, I thought it was worth sharing with y'all.
Later,
EricV

THANKS for the lead. These were discussed before, seems like everyone is waiting for the OTHER guy to try them!  I made an inquiry about getting just the lefty props but was turned down...

My 2 pair of props has arrived. They look very nice. They are light and very stiff.`Most certainly worth 5 bucks a piece.I was fortunate enough to get 4 flights in yesterday but today it's 34 degrees and raining sideways. As soon as I can fly these props I will let ya's know how they work out.Trax

Cool!!! I take it you're going to test the backwards props in comparison for Epower? Do the hubs looks sturdy enough for IC? If so, we need to test the other ones on something like a PA61/65 8)

Hi Eric,
I'm sure these were designed and meant for E-power only. The hubs on these are very similar to the older style APC 13X4.5 EP props.Sturdy enough for electric power but not meant for the vibrations of an IC engine.Trax
