Title: Proper way to set the CG
Post by: Vincent Judd on September 13, 2013, 02:14:36 PM
I've been following all the chatter on the "one bladed prop" thread over on the Open forum and with all the cerebral hemorrhaging going on over there, I wanted to throw this out there for consideration.

I know how important it is to get the CG set properly.  My question is this-do I want to check the CG when my battery is full or empty?

Thanks    H^^

Vince, That is easy!! It has to be empty cause the IC folks set theirs with an empty tank!!!

Wait Vince, We NEVER want our Lipo batteries to be empty! That would kill the battery!! So what you should do is set the CG with the battery at 20% charge and then move it to the rear slightly to compensate for that 20%!!

John,

Is it true that because they move faster, 45C electrons are bigger and heavier than 25C electrons?    S?P
