Well, it will work but you will pay a weight price. It is always best to match the motor and battery size to the model you are setting up.
I have used many cheap motors and have never had a problem. I always apply a drop of light oil to the bearings of any motor before I run it. In any case, for many motors the bearings can be replaced and surprisingly bearings are not that expensive.
A $90 motor for a FliteStreak, to me, is overkill.
