Prop Adapter with Collet, 4mm
« on: December 22, 2020, 07:02:03 PM »
Guys,
I am just finishing up my electric S1 Ringmaster and installed a E Flite Prop Adapter with Collet, 4mm. Problem is that the shaft thread is a bit short 5/8" and doesn't allow installing a spinner with a normal width hub needs about 3/4". Anyone know who makes a longer shaft adapter?

Best,    DennisT

Hyperion makes Xl adapters that I have been using for years . The   one that should work for you is the ADAP 40xl. They can be found here and at other places  https://hyperion-world.com/en/p1773439-hp-adap-40xl-12601. The last time I ordered from here , the shipping was insane but they did refund the difference to actual shipping a day or 2 later. Of course I cant guarantee you the same experience.

Success - the Hyperion 4mm Xl adapter works perfect with a Dubro 1 3/4" spinner and APCE - P 9x6. Thanks again William.

I have found one issue that you should look out for if you use the Hyperion 4mm XI adapter. The shaft is 6mm not 1/4". This works OK with a new Great Plains electric spinner but if you had opened it for use on an E Flite adapter it will be over size by about 0.006". This may not seem like a lot but it will throw the balance off and cause the motor to make odd sounds as it spinners up. I believe on the DuBro spinners you can fit one of the inserts to get a good fit. Also check your prop fit, they are likely 1/4" so you should be able to use an insert there also.

Update: Just ran a test on the new backplate sized for a smooth 6mm fit and same for prop. The run-up was smooth, to full power-rpm. No odd noises or vibration.
