It seems I caught a little flack for converting this plane to electric.
I was very frustrated with making three trips to a flying field only to have the same issues.
Paul, one of the constants of this group, is that if you announce that you're going to do
anything definite you'll catch flack for it. Going 'lectric? No, you should stick with what works. Going IC? Why are you playing with that old stuff? Going to a V-tail? Oh man, it'll never work in the wind. Abandoning V-tails because no one will help you trim? Coward! Trike gear? Ooh -- heavy, and that wheel up front will mess up your inverted flight! Conventional gear? Oh boy, your landings will be harder! Gonna use a Fox 35? Why would you want to use that old piece of trash! Gonna change out the Fox 35 for an OS 25LA? Why are you losing that sterling example of American craftsmanship!
Etc. Just take comfort in the fact that if you ask for advice, sooner or later someone will tell you to do exactly what you were planning on doing anyway.
(My flying buddy says "no 'lectric -- I just blow those things up")
