Hacker Motors
« on: December 02, 2014, 06:12:05 PM »
I just received a notice from Aero Model Hacker (the US Distributor)advising me that they will be closing business at the end of 2014. Although a new US Distributor will no doubt be appointed some time in the future there is none at the present time.

Anyone who intends to acquire a Hacker motor should call (951-678-1406) or e mail (eric@rsmdistribution.com)  me now if they wish to get one of these competition level motors. Only the current stock is available so do not delay as no new stock of motors will be ordered by Aero Model Hacker USA.

Hacker update.

Eric, thanks for the info on Hacker. Aero Model Hacker was a very good distributer. Their other business, ZIPPERTUBING, takes up all of their time and is growing. My guess is that making wire harness covers for a world market across many industries has a little better ROI than investing in selling motors to modelers? ;-)

The new North American Hacker distributer is listed below. I was told that it will take a few weeks for this new distributer to have their website up and running. It will also take a few weeks to get stock in their warehouse. My industry friend told me that the new distributer is very knowledgeable, and has the resources to support this excellent product.

As I have said many times in my articles, Hacker motors are well designed, and well built. They are an excellent choice for those wanting a high quality motor at a reasonable price. I have used them for 15 years, on everything from 16 oz. foam planes to 17 pound IMAC planes, and they have always performed well.

If you want a motor for CL PA contact Eric,  (RSM Distribution) he has Hacker CL motors and also "plug and play" complete ECL setups. And as most of you know, Eric is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet. Every interface with Eric has always been enjoyable. I walk away laughing or having learned something, often both. :-)

Here is the post as shown on the German Hacker website:

Hey Rudy:

Good to hear from you. We miss you in the C/L circles.

Yes, the Hackers is a very good motor! I have recently arranged to have motors built for RSM to my specifications. Not too surprising that I used the Hacker as the basis for these specifications. The only difference between the Hackers and the Black Tigers is that Hacker uses curved magnets while the Black Tigers use flat magnets. This makes the Hacker motors very slightly more efficient (1 or 2%) than the Black Tigers. Of course we can sell the Black Tigers for 2/3 the price of the Hackers and still offer a two year warranty.
