Hi John
Got a better look at the take-off hop that time.  I think the wheels are crabbing & grabbing.  I'd suggest checking to see if the axles are alignied, it they are then try to bend them some so you have just a little toe-in.  If that doesn't help then try making the tires more slippery but putting a strip of vinyl electricians tape around each wheel tread.

Still no loop??? (just teasing)

I think it looks great, lotsa fun. I also think that the whole take off issue is caused by the fact that the rotor isn't spinning. I've done several RC Gyros and always had to have some spinup before takeoff. Just a thought, maybe try it when there's some wind to get it spinning.

I had the same thought.  Next time I get together with the NACA club members I will have one of them hold the  gyro and give the blade a spin before launch.   y1

Flew the Gyro the other day.  Take off with the rotor spinning was quit normal and quick. Landings are still almost straight down.  y1
