Motor suggestion?
« on: December 24, 2019, 11:37:15 AM »
So, I had planned to use a Cobra 2826/10 930kv motor in my new plane. I'm told by several sales sites that this particular motor is on backorder and won't be available for some time.

Any suggestions for replacement? The main body has to be 46mm long or less.

Thanks for any suggestions. I thought about an AXI, but they are 49mm long.

How about this

More KV, but should be usable.  You didn't specify cell count. You might fudge the KV up or down depending.  You also didn't note line length and weight, but could you use the 2820 series Cobra?

Is there enough room in the nose to use the 3515?  It's a 43mm diameter can.

The 2826/12 has the same dimensions as the /10.  I have one and I am quite pleased with it's performance and they are in stock  A 2820 fits the same front mount as the 2826 but is a bit shorter which doesn't matter on a front mount but it is only rated up to a 4s battery.  I am pretty sure that the 2826/12 on a 5s battery would be more than enough power.  Don't know what your weight will be but my 2826/12 is pulling around a 50oz ship effortlessly and so is my 2820/12 and they are both running 4s batteries.  Either of these will swap out for the 2826/10 later.

I think a BadAss 2826-1030 or -690 will also fit but I have no personal experience with them.  The Cobra 2826/12 is 930kv which is in-between the two.  I have heard that they have the same front mount.

And I thought IC was confusing. mw~

Good Luck - Ken

Found one. The setup was a 2826/10 930kv motor, 60amp ESC, Hubin Timer and 4s 2800mah battery. I was going to have a 2826/12 760kv motor with same esc and timer with 5s 2800mah battery in case it needs nose weight.
