I had a second incident of my plane pitching down at launch. Both cases were on grass, Spin 66 ESC, 12” Igor prop, Igor timer. Both times the motor stopped, the prop was unhurt, and I was able to restart and fly.

Check with Jive Industries for a post incident airframe and prop status report, and alert Jive Grounds Maintenance for a thorough flatness and FOD check in the launch area of circle one.

My plane wants to pitch down on start too. I have to be careful to have some up elevator at time of spool up. Then once it starts rolling a few feet neutral elevator. I've had this happen mostly in Muncie! I'm thinking that I might be pulling on the lines when spooling up?

These incidents were: 1) at a very crude field at a contest, and 2) after my stooge stuck, when I was probably distracted and holding down. I did, however, mow Circle 1 afterward.

The first time I thought I was lucky. When it happened again I concluded that the Spin 66 and the Igor prop are really good.

The human stooge on incident 1 was a contributing factor.

It must be a lack of training — the more training, the more nose-over accidents, the shorter the grass at launch, and the easier the takeoff

BTW, thanks, nice to know that we also have good props for lawnmowers.
