Just reading the post on Plettenberg settings and it kicked my brain into gear and reminded me that my ECL setups sound a lot noisier than the 3 other ECL planes I have set up for other people - they all have different systems - so I am getting theirs right by the sounds (or lack there of) of things.....

You say this motor is noisier. Is it the governor loop oscillating or chattering quickly around the set-point RPM? Maybe.
Is it the commutation timing being set inappropriately for that particular motor? Maybe
How do I go about checking those things to rule them out as the noise makers!
