New video of the Gee Bee indoor plane.

This is the second time I have tried to post a link to this video on facebook.  Just cut and paste the above link into your browser and give it a look.  Pay no attention to my less that spectacular landing.  The plane is fine and ready for more testing.  It is now on it's fourth motor, motor number three smoked during setup.  The timer is a KR governor/timer with new test firmware that allows low RPM (4500) and it sports a new push button on/off switch.

Actually I just tested the link and you just have to click on it. ;D

Sorry guys, it seems the only person it works for is me.  It's a link to a video on my facebook account and I believe there in lies the problem.  I will do my best to correct the problem.

The battery position must be perfect, the speed upright and inverted was equal.   LL~

Hi Igor,
What rpm do the guys that use constant rpm with the E-Max motor use? I'm sure that it must be more than 4500....possibly 5000 to 5500?? Thanks.

The flight on the video had the revs set at 4500 RPM and the gain set to 4.  It took a few tries for the first wing over, not because the plane wouldn't do it but to build up the courage to follow it through.  As Igor said you must have faith!  The first time I went over the top I was just waiting for it to fall our of the sky and land on my head, but to my relief the Gee Bee just flew right over.  The next thing I want to work out are corners, I plan to tackle square insides, then outsides and lastly triangles.  If it will do triangles I should be good to do the hourglass and the rest of the pattern.  With this plane it's baby steps, first the rounds then the squares then the triangles.  Kind of like learning the patter all over again.

Yes Keith, 4300 to 4500 is aproximately what we use in level. But Emax has more poles then our smaller motor (used by Attila), so it could be diferent.

Is it just me or does the plane have excessive right yaw?  So much so that it is hurting tention.  It would seem removing the wing brake on the outboard wing would cure some of this and maybe help tension??

Hi Doug
Oh yes, it has right yaw.  Another quote from Igor, "the Gee Bee is one big side force generator" or something close to that.  The plane is built exactly the way Igor suggested.  I figure he designed it, he probably has the most flights on it, oh and yep he won the Worlds.  All kidding aside this plane does not use centrifugal (love that word)  force to keep it taught on the lines, it uses yaw and brute force to do that.  Igor is far smarter than I am he can explain if far better than I can.   All I can say is it does work.

This sound a little like flying a Bi-Slob.   First wingover I did with mine I too kept waiting for it to fall on me.   And after the flight to be told I did it into the wind.   Sure glad the old Fox Stunt likes to lean out when you pull the nose up on the plane.
