Title: New Timer
Post by: Jason Greer on February 16, 2013, 10:57:22 AM
My wonderful wife presented me with a Valentine's gift yesterday.  Inside the package from Slovakia was an active timer, Jeti Spin 66, and a Jeti programming box.  All from Igor Burger.  I am very excited to say the least.  Now I have some serious motivation to get started on my new model!  Thank you Igor and my wife Shannon!

My wife knows that I've spent far too much time working on my gyro controlled timer with little progress over the past few weeks.  Now I can get back to building and flying!

Thanks,
Jason

So you're letting your wife distract you from Scientific Progress?

Tim,
Of course not!  I will continue to work on the timer, but at least now I won't feel rushed to a solution for this year.

John,
She is very supportive of the hobby.  She even does a little flying herself every so often!  Afraid she does not have a sister.  Only two brothers.

Darrell,
Yes sir!  She is definately a keeper.  How have you been?

Crist,
Will you be at the nats this year?

Jason,
No plans for the NATS this year.  That could change, but I doubt it.

Thanks!  I'll forward your kind comments on to my wife.

Crist,
I hate to hear that you won't be attending the nats.  Hopefully our paths will cross sometime soon!

The weather finally cooperated long enough today to do some flying with the new timer.  This setup is awesome!  I flew two short flights without active regulation to get the lap time set and then flew the calibration flight.  After the calibration flight I got a full pattern flight in.  As I entered the reverse wingover I could hear the regulation doing it's job.  My dad was helping me and he said he could here me giggling as I was flying.  Many thanks to Igor for sharing this technology.

Yes sir, thats my Geo on facebook now.  I've retrofitted your timer and ESC into this model in place of the original Castle ICE 50 and Hubin timer.  I will try to get a video this afternoon.  At the moment it is thunderstorming.  Hopefully the weather will turn better...

Hello Jason,

I got a active timer from Igor about a month ago.  Have not tried it out yet due to New England weather.

Nice to hear about your success with it.
