Title: New RSM Take Apart Ringmaster Electric
Post by: Andrew Borgogna on March 24, 2013, 03:43:45 PM
Well you may remember my tail of WOE regarding the weird crash of the first TA Ringmaster I built.  Well here is the replacement, it's finished and ready for test flying I just need one of the new 10x5.8 EP props that my very good friend Dennis Adamisin will quickly send me (that should work).  Anyway I do not intend to fly this one with a tractor prop, I have too many bad memories of the torque roll the last one did.

Andy, glad you got it back together.   Now write on the back of your hand,  "No more maneuvers after completion of pattern". LL~ LL~  Also I like the looks of your shop, but it is still too neat.    Still trying to talk the wife into the TA Ringmaster.

Your new Ringer is looking good.  Your props are on the way. I hope you do not torque roll the OTHER way!

Curare
Sorry to take so long to answer you questions, but here are the parts that make up the power system.
Motor:  KA-12M with a Kv of 1370
ESC:     Saker 45amp SBEC
Timer:   KR timer/governor
Prop:     10x7E (APC)  I am switching over to a 10x5.5EP (APC)

The timer and ESC are both attached to the fuselage with silicon adhesive.  When I get the new props from Denny I will start playing with the RPM to get the lap times and performance where I want them.  The original model was flying a bit fast and I was just about to start slowing it down when disaster hit.  Hopefully the new pusher props with help prevent a recurrence of the torque roll problem I had.  Anyway as Doc said "just fly out the remaining laps".

Hope this helps.
