MORE MOTOR CHOICES COMING FROM FUTABA
« on: September 07, 2011, 06:16:18 AM »
Just read on  a pattern forum that Futaba is about to issue three motors and an ESC. I tried a link using the Japanese translation via Goggle, but it wasn't a whole lot more informative than the the standard Japanese version.

Anyway , here they are -  www.rc.futaba.co.jp/motor/index.html

Looks like Futaba is in it big time.  One of the speed controllers looks to be hard case instead of shrink wrap.

These are some big honk'in motors. 50X55 for big pattern planes I think.

Hi Norm,
Actually, these are motors I would use to power a nostalgia pattern piped-60 model. really good for only 1500W peak where a 2-meter ship is flying on 3KW, these days.
They would be useful if you were contemplating a 90-ounce stunter, though!

Hi Dean
Wow! 3KW now that's a Honk'in motor/system.  That Futaba should be good for a Bridi UFO - I really liked that airplane when I flew Pattern also the Hipo Tipo by Dick Hansen.  Good old days, do you remember the World Champs in the Netherlands my daughter still can’t stomach the thought of eggs on a hamburger.
Regards
Norm

Ah yes ... '85. I went simply to cover the event as Press. My room arrangements were messed up and I slept in my car the first night until the Aussies heard and put me up for the remainder of the contest!
Strange, I remember the food as being quite good. The endless mud, on the other hand  HB~>

You may not remember my Wife, Daughter and you and me had lunch together.  You had a hamburger with an egg on it. BTW, that is normally how they serve hamburgers in the Netherlands.  I thought my daughter was going to get sick at the sight of the egg on the hamburger.  My family and I where later stationed on the western side of Germany and made many trips to the Netherlands, Belgium and France but every time a hamburger was mentioned my daughter just reminded us “the thing Dean ate!”.  So you are very infamous in our household.

A Royal Red Robin Burger!  (sing "Red Robin, YMMMMM!")

I have a J&J Eyeball not quite RTC that was set up for a Max Goldhead.  I never thunk about electrifying it since the vintage pattern boys limited power choices.  Now maybe...!   8)

Dennis,
I have a NIB OS Blackhead just waiting for another Super Kaos.  Ah, the younger years.  35 years ago.

Hi Norm,
Can't say that I do, and I certainly don't remember your daughter's reaction: her manners must have been too good. Gotta' like the infamy part ...
Remember the frijtesauce? Fries have never been so good!

My understanding is that it's just the SPA guys who limited electric, the Mambo I plan to build for VRCS events will have a Torp 29 with the guts removed and an electric driveshaft run through it.

I'm with you, Dennis: though you ought to check on the MAN plan of the last version of the Eyeball: the tail was stretched to make it balance with a nosewheel, and it dramatically improved the plane, getting rid of the proverse roll. Dear old Art said so, himself.

later,
  Dean
