I'm building and all composite Electric Impact Master and would like to share the building of this model with the Electric comunity. BTW the model will be BOM compliant.
Whats and Impact Master? the IM series was started by me as a composite model in 2002. The model combines the Impact with the Pattern Master 51 wing.
IN 2009 I started to build a composite Impact, the Impact, fuse stab molds were made, the wing molds were not finished on time but the 51 Pattern Master wing molds were, I combined the Impact fuse and stab with the PM51 wing and built it with PM moments(hinge to hinge). The aero dynamics(engine, wing, stab placement were impact.)
So the "Impact master".
The composite shell wings are built in a Bob Hunt L.F.W.(lost Foam wing) jig.
after the recent BOM decision my plans for producing composite kits had to change. Solid flying surface with fiberglass cloth were no longer allowed.
in 2002 I was not satisfied at the weights of the wing panels and i started to cut solid panels to mimic an open bay wing the following system for building an open bay composite wing were developed. NOTE: if the model is not intended for the Nat's competition then wings can be left solid cut outs not required.
