New Electric Ringmaster

Due to the extended building season in Minnesota this year, I was able to finish this today.

Welcome to the electric Ringmaster Club.  #^ By my count, you make it four all told!! LOL You also need to post your information over on the Brotherhood of the Ring forum in the electric discussion forum:

If you are not a member you need to register -- there is a lot of GOOD information over there.
Maybe you could make some skis and do a test flight or two before the Spring thaw in May.  y1

The CG came out right on the money. It is a little bit of a porker however at 39 oz.

Judging from your photos you have an SK Turnigy 3538 900 which is probably more motor than you need. It will certainly haul your "porker" Ringmaster around with authority. That motor can swing a 12 or 13 inch prop but on your Ringmaster most likely those props would not clear the ground. This motor can also pull more than 50 AMPs so be careful that you don't over prop/RPM it and blow your ICE50 ESC.

As I understand it you can run most any size prop on an electric motor.  The max RPM is set by the RPM/volt rateing.  Also some ESC/timers can set the RPMs.  In the case of the 3538 900 supposedly it provides 900 RPM per volt.  So the number of cell in the LiPo pack will set max RPMs.  The size of the prop determines the load on the motor.  As you increase the size of the prop the load goes up.  To handle the load requires more power.  The voltage is fixed so to get more power the AMPS go up.  An electric motor will keep trying to drive whatever load you put on it - until you overload it and it burns out.  So the only disadvantage of an oversize motor (within limits) is extra weight.  If you use a 10 x 6 or 10 x 7 prop and a 4 cell pack (14.4V) it should turn around 12000 RPM.  That should emulate a very healthy Fox 35.  If lap times are too high use a smaller prop or reduce RPMs with ESC/timer.  I bet your Ringmaster will be a blast to fly.  I have a Ringmaster that I may well convert to electric.
