Posting photos of William Demauro's all composite molded shell Electric SV-22
This sunday 01-16 William and Sina paid a visit to my cellar shop and started their composite models. As these molded models are intended for National competition, to avoid any controversy we are documenting the building process.

Wynn. Bill Rich just banned this type of construction(commercial). The models are only banned at the Nat's. working on BOM (BR) approved construction method.  I will start to post today. I'm building a COMPOSITE ELECTRIC IMPACT MASTER 4.
Posting Photo's of Sina's shell composite Impact Master 2.

I'm working on a Electric ready to fly(painted)  Yatzenko type take apart system,Turnigy motor, battery and Will Hubin timer. Wynn you could up grade electronics to Castle, shultzie, platenburg ,ETC. with cost adjustment depending on selection. (at this time no travel box)

First thing I want to do is to thank Jose for the use of his shop, tools and molds for building my 2011 E-SV 22. His compsite building system is a great way to build!!! Jose has put a great deal of time effort and money into this system and I am very fortunate to live close enough to him and have access to this system. This is especially good for me as I have developed a pretty bad allergy to the balsa dust. Today we spent some time preparing the top half of the molds to accept the skins. Next time I will get the top half molded. Here are a few more pictures from Sundays building session.
First picture is me waxing the mold.
Second picture is preparing the vacuum bag.
Third is sliding the wing panel into the bag.
Fourth is me holding the bag as it shrinks around the wing.

I know is been a while since I last posted on this but I have made some significant progress the last few weeks. The wings are  almost ready to top skins attached. The stab and elevators are molded and ready to be joined as soon as I add the hinge slots. I'll have all my controll hardware in the next few days. Here are a few wing and stab pictures.

Jose,

1) It looks like you vacuum bag a layer of glass on the lost foam to make a permanent molding surface. Am I correct?

2) What is the thickness of the balsa wing skins?

The skins are 1/32. They are moulded in a hard shelled mould that Jose made. The shells are pinned to the lost foam cradle and it is built like a lost foam wing from that point. The big plus is that youhave half the finish on it when you are done, Just prime and paint!!!

I put a Bob Hunt style adjustable leadout guide into the wing today. Attached are a few pictures. Tomorrow I will set up the bellcrank and prepare to close this wing up.
