  Leeds uni have a new battery that sounds interesting it is lithium rapped in a conductive polymer  these can be made as a extrusion so cheaper to manufacture
and more stable ie no electalight to gas off, and lighter
the program this was on is bbc radio 4  on last  Monday material world you can get it on play back on BBC iplayer
