Holy Smoke! Oooops, I guess that’s not appropriate language around here! OK.
Yikes Crist! I just got all my e stuff mounted on my P Force and it’s an anchor!
49 ozs.
So how did you do 38 ozs. Crist? Mine started out at abt. 40 oz. with an FP .40.
I’m equipped with an E Flite Power 15, a Gen Ace 4S 2500mah and a CC ICE 50.
First I’m noticing that your 4S 2200 battery is way smaller than my 4S 2500. Smaller, it fits on the nose of your Force like a plastic tank. Mine is halfway up the wing!
OK, for comparison, my E Flite power 15 is within a gram of your Scorpion. My Gen Ace battery is 300 grams. (10.6 ozs.) Your Gadex is 235 grams (8 ¼ ozs.) I’m using a CC ICE 50. Overkill yes, but not a major weight differential between us. So far that gives you an equipment weight advantage of 2 ¼ ozs. That leaves you with an overall weight advantage 8.75 ozs. Do you think you removed that much by putting holes in the tail? I wouldn’t think so. Ennyway, if you did, wouldn’t that leave a very nose heavy plane. Mine now has roughly 18 ozs. of power equip. in the nose as opposed to the original FP at about 12 ozs. Engine, muffler, spinner and tank.
So where did I go wrong? Am I over powered? I AM overwhelmed!
And Oh yea…Where did you get the Gadex 4S 2200? All I have found is 3S’s.
Ward
Ward,
Maybe the weight gain is from the difference of your PF ARF and mine. Maybe I got a light one. I did lighten the fin, stab, elevators, and the fuselage aft of the CG. I used a CF pushrod too. It all adds up.
I think the power should be fine.
Here is a link to Gadget World where I got my batteries. The actual weight was 215g if I remember right.

Crist,
I just converted my PF to electric, just added a front plate to mount the Scorpion 3020 so the rest is stock PF Arf---with a little added soaked-in oil from the year as a glow setup. I am using same setup as in Nobler (just a transplant), so we will see how it all performs. All up weight is 44oz, basically the same as the Nobler, so I'm pretty impressed that you brought yours in at 38.5 oz. Amazing that it would be possible to find about 6 oz in balsa.
See Ward, you're not the only one that is impressed with my building skills.
