My E-Tutor II Yeah Baby!
« on: October 26, 2013, 07:25:33 PM »
Well after a little encouragement from John Cralley I decided to take my electric project off the back burner. Here is my next attempt at an electric plane.

I thought it was neat that the battery just happen to match the monokote that was already on the plane. It was a little hard to get the new monokote to stick back down around the motor mounts.

My next electric project will be painted.

Paul,
Looks good!!! If you would like to save about an ounce in weight you can take the kill switch off and save it for a future built up project. There is no need for one on a profile as the battery and speed control plugs are exposed anyway for a quick disconnect. What speed control are you using?

...and the Tutor soldiers on!  Profile installations usually look kind of busy, and retrofits even worse.  However yours looks pretty clean & serviceable.

Cannot tell - is there air getting to the heat sink on the ESC?  If not you might want to re-route things, possibly with the wires bundled against the fuselage and the ESC sitting up on top witht he heat sink side exposed.

Thanks Guys!

I needed a litte nose weight so not too worried about the safety plug. Will also allow me to get use to the setup.

Dennis - I cut a slot in the fuse and slid the controller in air should flow past and around.

Wow Paul,

This a plane that started life right out of the box with a crushed wing and just kept getting better and better.

Great job ;)  Can't wait to see it fly and maybe even get to take her for a ride ;D

You know this is "our" plane. You gave me this plane to take me to the next level and that it what is did and is still doing. I just got back from first the first flight and all i can say is Wow!  I had great line tension and it was quiet.
I ordered two more batteries.  ;D

Good job Paul.  I'll be your student when I finally get an electric set-up.
