Title: motor test question...
Post by: jim gilmore on June 23, 2010, 12:31:25 PM
ok, here's my question.
I know that the electric motors we use run by sending pulsed in sequence to it make it work.
Is there a simple set up that anybody has seen to be able to  test motors ?
Short of buying a transmitter and reciever so i can cycle the motor on and see how it runs through it's power range ?
I though Will hubin haad something but in his newest list i did not see one.
I'm just looking to bench test some motor and battery combo's and get the rpm and make sure they will turn the rpm I need at prop i need first.
Any suggestions ?

You can use any "servo tester". It will make you necessary signal in range used by every ESC.

I'll go looking for more sources, but ...
http://www.vexacontrol.com/
and
http://www.caliberhobby.com/auxcir.html
the GWS servo meter/tester is inexpensive and has the necessary display, but I've never played with one myself.

take care,
Dean P.
