Title: Motor mount
Post by: Jim Dincau on June 25, 2014, 06:03:44 PM
I am converting a profile model with standard hardwood engine bearers to electric. The motor mounts at the front with 4 screws but they are not in the standard X pattern. I was thinking of making a plate like the attached drawing and mounting it with barrel nuts. Is this a feasible way to do it?

Never mind, the barrel nut reduces the cross section of the engine bearer to almost nothing and the screws are in tension not shear. I will make a u shaped bracket and bolt it through from the sides.
