Little Political Sign ET1 Trainer
« on: November 07, 2013, 06:03:24 PM »
As you may or may not know I am a distributor for RSM and the othe day I got an e mail from a friend of mine wanting to buy an ET1 trainer and the complete programmed electric system for it.  I had absolutely no idea what he was talking about so I called Eric and asked what it was.  He explained it was a trainer that was designed by Larry Renger, primarily for his club, and then sent me this picture.  I think this is one of the neatest trainers I have seen.  It is literally made from old Chloroplast political signs and then Eric laser cuts them.  I suspect I will be receiving more orders for them.

Maybe you all have seen these but I will post it again anyway.  Larry may have posted them on here but I miss a lot of posts.

Anyway here they are.. great job of design Larry.

Here's the Beginner Ringmaster I built after the ET-1. The ET-1 flew a little better.

Duke that is really neat.  I had no idea people were designing these trainers from yard signs but I think it is great and a really economical way to teach someone to fly...

You can buy a piece at Home Depot or Lowes for $4.  I was given a few 4'X8' panels.  You can also get it in colors and some sign printing shops.  Google S.P.A.D. design planes.

So far we have trained about 250 kids. And still have all 4 trainers readily flyable. Only damage so far was a few broken props and motor mounts popping off. A bit of hot glue and ready to go again!
Think S.M.A.L.L. y'all and, it's all good, CL, FF and RC!

Oh come on Larry tell them the truth, you love to go out after an election and scarf up all the political signs you can get your hands on. y1 y1  I went with Larry after the last election and man did we get a bunch of signs.  They also can be taped together to make great runways for takeoff on grass, Larry and I both have a runway.  They are great for getting planes with small wheels off the grass.  Between the ET-1 and the runways we finally found a good use for these eyesores and nobody has caught us yet. n~

I really like the concept of the ET-1 as a trainer.

I enjoy running them over in my vehicle under acceleration.
Especially when they line them up like ducks.
They make a nice sound as they crumple under your car and get chucked out the back.  LL~

Yes...(it was a joke)

Here in Tulsa there's an ordiance to remove them after an election or your campaign will be fined. Which never seems to happen.

We have a club trainer made from that stuff. Pretty indestructable.

Easy as Pi? 3.141569 give or take a bit....

And then there was the politician who introduced a bill to make it exactly 3. It would make a lot of things simpler....unless you wanted to actually survive, for example, a flight in an airliner, or even a car.

Yes, and if I remember correctly it was a result of his reading of Ezekiel!  HB~>
