More Super Clown Issues
« on: June 24, 2013, 01:16:14 PM »
If I haven't had enough issues with getting this thing off the ground, I run into another.  I finally got the plane to where I thought I was ready for a trial flight.  I was running the motor, just to test out the electrics, when I noticed something that didn't seem right.  So, I measured the outboard side, from prop tip to the leading edge.  Then I rotated the prop tip to the other side and measured again.  The inboard reading was a 1/2 inch shorter than the outboard!!  That would have made for an interesting flight.  By the way, this is the way the kit came to me.  So now, I've torn the motor mount off and am going to attempt to make another and mount it correctly.  I'm about ready to put a match to it and go back to my IC's.

H^^ I've had my headache's with all my CL ARF's  ~^ and have had to replace parts  S?P  or epoxy where hoy glue had once been used, and used my cover  iron or heat gun, to eliminate major rinkles in covering.  HB~> There has always been something needed to be corrected.  :P I laerned this the hard way,  :o when I crashed my first ARF. Tutor Two   ::) when the bell crank came ripping out to the outer wing rib!  n~ I now purchase ARC planes whenever possible,  y1  or will just stay with the box of stix kits!!  H^^
