Third year in a row I've built another Hunt "Crossfire" Minor changes with overall reduce flap area, increased outboard flap area and different power plant (Cobra 3520 w/fan). Came out 12g. heavier than last years which flew very well.
I usually have a rule that the maximum number of colors I will use on a model is 5. Anything more makes the model look too busy to me. I threw the rule out the window this year mainly due to the mural painted on the vertical stabilizer. 13 different colors and shades alone. 18 different colors all together. Never again. Well maybe next year!

Congrats!

Beautiful design isn't it.

Can you part with a bit of detail info about that, "Increased outboard flap area."

I'd like to have a better understanding of that principal and the purpose fo it?

The only thing is that I think that people in the Northern U.S. have seen too many snow flakes this year.

Mark,
Chris got his last coat of clear on yesterday. I'd post a picture, but there is a publication ban on it right now. Should start buffing in a week to 10 days. Haverly got his new "5th Element" into the air last week. I'm heading down to Seattle next week to fly with Mike and do some machining work in his shop. Might get by Howard's to check on his progress on the new dog. Paul sent me pictures of his new Predator and he has some flights. I'm also busy with the Mark II versions of the CF prop. I've improved the 12" LH and will also make a 12" RH version. I have the master made for the blades and will make a mould for the two, then lay up some blades and assemble them into complete props and make final moulds from those.

Did you forget something? I don't see any leadouts in the left wing tip.

My guess is you are the first person to put a polar bear on a stunter. Beautiful paint work, certainly not just another "white with red trim" model. Hope we get to see it at some NorCal contests like Golden State.

I have Crossfire wings and stab I just received from Bob so will be starting mine soon. E power of course. I can't hope for paintwork like yours but at least it will inspire me to try something new. BTW Larry Wong's Crossfire bit the dust about two weeks ago and he is already at work on a new one, takeapart with built up wings.

I plan on being at Golden State again this year. Sorry to hear about Larry's ship. He usually keeps me informed. I'll drop him a note later today.
Leadouts? Boy these senior moments are getting way to frequent. Luckily I doubled up and put another set out the other wing tip. Nothing like having numerous trim options.

I think for those of us between the Cascades and the Coast, the most appropriate things to put there would be blobs of mud. It must be why weather-themed planes don't show up much in Oregon and Washington.
