Since Will Moore posted my new ship here; I thought I'd let folks know how the 1st flights went.
Set up : Arrowwind 3526/05 685KV motor TP Bat 5S 2700 mah FM 9 timer
I statred with 2.5 min flights -was very disappointed . Plane took off and landed great grooved , but turn was very poor
Switched from the 13X4.5 pusher to a 13X5.5 I got from Dennis A . It was much better ,but still not right. The glide told me it could use a bit of nose weight, but the turn said tail weight for sure
- confusing!
I have lost of things in this ship I don't normally use IE. flex lead outs ; 4 inch bellcrank' Tom Morris controls.
I usually make my own control horns , but decided to try Tom's double flap and elev horns this time.
After four 2.5 min flights I knew something was wrong ( honestly I thought I built a dog!)
I had set the control throws with a trow meeter that I use for RC . Then I started looking at Tom Morris' data sheets for his horns. The sheet said I should have the elv horn bottomed out close to the horn wire to achieve a 1to1 ratio. I had it at about the half way point. I changed the ratio per Tom's sheet and ignored the throw meeter. I flew complete patterns today and am real happy The ship has corner and goes where I aim it
I Am using a bit more Bat power than I hoped for but I can live with it. I'm using about 2300mah of the 2700mah
I like the two ST 60 ships I converted to elect last seasion ,but this ship has the potential to cause me to leave them hanging on the wall

hey Dick - Nice to hear you got it sorted - It sure looks nice model and would have been a shame if it didnt perform.

I can't explain how or why the meter could be wrong. It does not make sense to me either. It's a simple protractor with inch measurements on one side and metric on the other. I was carefull using it multiple times and thought I had about 35 degrees travel with a ratio of one to one
BUT when I examined where I had the adjustable elevator it was in the mid point of the range . The range is 3/4 inch to 1 inch. The elev push rod is in the flap horn at 3/4 inch, so when I moved the elev horn to 3/4 I had to be at the mechanical 1 to 1 and the meter says I have more Elev than flap
The good news it now flies fine. I have 6 complete patterns on it and I'm very satisfied with how it flys

Here a a couple of pics of the elect area( hope I can post more than one. Every time I try to put up two pics it tells me "too much data")
The top hatch is OK ,but I think I'll go back to the bottom hatch on the next one. It's no big deal turning the model over on a rack and I like the access much better. You may not be able to see it but I had to use two hatches. The top hatch for the battery and a traditional cowling so I can get the motor in and out
