You are not prohibited from using the mail to ship LiPo's - there are restrictions on packaging and quantities.  There are different restrictions on International shipment versus Domestic.  I was unable to find any on-line
documentation of what the current restrictions are - just an 800 number to call.  You need to ask your local
PO before you seal things up.

LiPo batteries are all mailed to me with no special packaging.  Inside is the usual warning sheet, which doesn't help much during shipping! (unless the batteries are able to read).

Where they have a big thermometer on the wall, that goes from "No recent fires -- tell them go ahead" at the bottom, to "Jet just burst into flame -- say no" at the top.

 LiPo batteries can be mailed using the USPS.
Domestic mail only.
Surface mail only.
Batteries must be discharged.  (Storage Charge)
Each battery must be individually wrapped.  Plugs should be covered to prevent shorting.
Mark outside of box as "Contains LiPO batteries"
Mark outside of box  "Contains no Lithium metal"

This is what Thunder Power ask me to do when I returned batteries due to warranty problem.
Mailed them with no problem and the person at the Post Office said that is the correct way to package them and mark them.

Thanks for the updated info.  I had seen it before but could only find the Overseas shipping.  For overseas, LiPos cannot be shipped loose but if a device contains them it can be shipped with the battery installed.
