RSM has a new twin stunter kit, the LA Warmth, 15 size twin
would make a neat Estunter
What would be a good setup of Axi motors, ESCs, Batteries, props, etc ?
Twin stunters have an aura unique, but usually too big, to me this is a very
attractive size
I would expect this to outsell the LA Heat kit ?

The picture they are using is actually of Frank Carlisle's LA Heat glow model. Frank has been building the prototype LA Warmth for them. Last I saw it it was in the bones and looked very nice and the build quality is typical Frank... very high. BUT it is simply a reduced LA Heat. The construction is just as complex as the LA Heat. I don't think that is beyond anyone (don't tell Frank I said that HB~>). This is not meant as a criticism of the airplane but there is a lot of work and a lot of parts in it. Don't think that cause its smaller its a short build. Frank plans on a pair of LA .15 in it. and the same paint scheme that is on his LA Heat. I think it is an obvious electric candidate. Not sure of Bob Hunt's twin's size but I think the LA Warmth is smaller. Have to ask Bob or re read his thread to be sure.

I spent the last 62 years building from plans, kits and own designs
the kit would be within my meagre skills, but before I commit I
want a setup list that will work. I like to gather every component
into one area on workbench before I begin, less frustration that
way . I have been looking at the MVVS E motors by the way
they are listed by IC engine size, .12--.15--.40--etc
The possibilities for model aircraft are boundless, wont live long
enough to put every idea into the air........but I am trying !

Hi Vincent - I have built and flown 2 twins over the last 3 years. These were both
approx 640 in. sq wing and weight was 62 to 64 oz. I am not sure how big your model will be. I think that a good motor would be a Park 480-910 KV sold by E-Flite. It is recommended to use a 2-3cell battery ,however I used a 4Cell 3200mah battery with 9"x6" APC-E and- EP props. If you want to use 3cell it would put you in approx a .15 category,with the advantage to go up to a .20 category with 4 Cells. Another motor just slightly larger at 3.3oz is sold by Atlanta hobby it is an
Extreme 2818-900KV. This is slightly more powerful and you can use 3 or 4 Cells.

The Warmth is 48 3/4" span and 463 square inches. H^^

Just happened to talk to Eric Rule about the LA Warmth. As stated it is a LA Heat that wasn't shrink resistant. He also has the Magnam engines for it. I almost went for the combo, but decided instead to get the "Miss Kell". Got Bob's autograph today and he showed me pictures of how the little lady with the bandaid looks today with the grandchild of his. Yes she is gorgeous as Eric told me she was. After VSC maybe you can contact Eric and get more info on the LA Warmth. H^^

462 sq ins so target all up weight would
need to be about 35 ounces max, not sure
if I will build one , I am tempted, but I have
so many other projects ..............BUT........
If I see a listed setup to suit maybe then

I am afraid I can't advise on electric motors, ESC's, or batteries. :( I am an IC engine guy, I just designed the airplane. I'll ask my electric friend. I'll see what sort of answers I can get for you. I will look at nacell modifications for electric motor mounting.

Eric Rule at RSM will be able to recommend an electric set-up for this airplane. He will send me info so I can design the modifications for electric power.
John (Electro Bro) Cralley will also be providing recommendations on motors, ESC, and batteries.

Pat King ask me to comment on your question about electric power for the L. A. Warmth. So here is my two cents.
First a disclaimer:
I have no experience with “15” sized twins but it really does sound like a fascinating idea.
That said:
I can tell you what I think I would try and maybe others with more experience in this area will chime in.
I think I would go with a pair of either of these Turnigy (www.hobbyking.com) motors

I am partial to the Phoenix line of Castle Creations ESCs you would need two and since 10 AMP is going most likely to be too small that would boost you to a pair CC 25 amp Phoenix ESCs (this will be the big expense). Other ESCs in the 18+ amp size could be used but most will not have the programmable features found in the Phoenix line.
A 3S Rhino Li-poly battery such as:
Capacity : 2150mAh
Constant discharge: 25C
Burst rate: 37C (15sec)
Configuration : 3S 11.1v
Pack size: 113x33x23mm
Weight : 185g
Might be a good starting point.
A Will Hubin timer would complete the electrical combination.

the kit price is reasonable but the carriage to
Europe is almost equal to the kit price , Hobby King
Escs would cut the price some more but some of
the quality can suffer with cheaper components
I will be looking closer at the whole package

Here is my two cent idea too. Talk to Eric at RSM and ask if he would make parts for you that are thinner than the usual. 1/32 wing skins instead of 1/16. Also the fuse sides instead of1/8 they can be 3/32. Etc
