Jeti Spin & Jeti Spin Pro
« on: September 10, 2012, 01:07:43 AM »
On the weekend I got to hands "pro" version of Jeti Spin 66, I was not able to find settings which I use with regular Spin 66. I do not know what stands "pro" for, but in any case I recommend to use version without that "pro" also not "mezon" or so

Igor,
I'm not sure what you mean. Maybe this might help
http://www.espritmodel.com/jeti-spin-66-brushless-esc.aspx
The standard spin 66 was replaced by the spin pro.
The settings are programmed a bit different but work just as well. I use the constant RPM setting
Also the wiring was changed twice. the last spin pro version I have has only 1 JR connector to plug into the timer
Its also used to plug into the Jeti box and change programming. The latest version has two connectors the black one is for the timer only. The red one is used for programming the ESC only.
If Jeti still makes a standard Spin 66 Were not getting it here. I don't see it available according to their website.
Its still on Jeti's site listed under old products.
Question, Does your timer, accelerometer work with 10 pole motors or just the 14 pole motors?

Darrell.

yes that is exactly what I mean, the regulator on your link is PRO version which I did not get working well yet. I will go to Jeti next week Friday and I will make it clear what they did and what is available and what is not. So I will update then. I spoke about it also with Russel, and this link shows proper version:

http://www.toprc.eu/en/jeti-spin-66-bec

and regarding my timer - yes it will work with any motor, number of poles to handle is task of the ESC, so if you have good and quick ESC it will work. It will work even with IC motor if you want :- )))

Igor,
Would you like me to send you my settings. They will at least help U get going minus RPM they are the same settings Frank Williams and I used at the US Nats. I haven't changed anything other than RPM. And about the timer/accelerometers, can I get them from you? And if so how much are they.

I can set the PRO for constant RPM, but I did not find setting for slow acceleration and then quick reaction during flight, that is what I must make clear with Jeti guys. Either I was wrong and they will tell me how, or I will try to make some modiffications to firmware, and of not, I will at least try to convince them to make us "non pro" version. We will see.

And yes you can have timer, I sale them for 100Euro. It is prorammable with Jetibox, you have it I expect.

Igor,
The setting is just acceleration alone on the spin pro and that is set in seconds at .5 intervals. The timers are a bit pricey for me right now. But I will get them in the future I'll let U know when.

Thanks,
Darrell.

this setting wil make reaction also too slow, so it is not usefull with active regulation, you need it maximally 0.2s, not 2 seconds

Remember,
This is the setting for the ESC only and it works on take off only . This works for me without active regulation.

Yes I know, that is why I wrote that it will work with constant speed timer. The problem is with active regulation. That setting on your picture is speed of changing target RPM. The speed of regulation itself (reaction to changed load) is defined by "Sensitivity" and it can be set to "1" and it is quick enough. The problem of active regulation is, that we need to change target RPM, not only change power as reaction to changed load. Old software had that setting valid only for initial spool up, and rpm changes during flight were quick, while now they use that setting also for inflight changes. I do not know if it is bug or feature  VD~, I will speak to them and we will see.

Well,
If nothing else maybe they can remake the original Spin 66 and rename it the "Spin 66 F2B"  :!

If that happens Ill probably have to send them off for reprogramming or buy new ones. But I would appreciate that also. I'm sure either way Jeti would see that as an opportunity.

So ... I was there, spoke to them ...

The Pro version will NOT have newer software for C/L (at least not soon), because I was not able to say potential number of customers in numer of thousends :- )) ... so that is that negative message.

The positive message is, that they are able and willing to make "non PRO" version of spins again, so it is possible to order it. However it is not good idea to order it one by one, so I will keep list of orders. If anyone wants, it is good to contact me first.

well ... do not fix what is not broken :- )))

Igor,
Thanks for the info, When Jeti makes the original Spin available again I would like to have one so put me on that list
please. If there is a minimal amount they are willing to make to sell what would that number be? I think the distributor here in the US would stock them. Lately they seem to be selling the Jeti pro 66's as fast as they get them.
