How many poles is the TGY SK 42-50 650kv motor? If I am looking at the right thing I count 12 copper-wound posts inside the can. I cannot find any source that tells how many poles the motor has and it did not come with any data sheet. Unlike my AXI, which maybe is why the AXI costs 4 times as much. Need to be sure about this so I can set the ESC via the CC software.

14
(count the magnets)

Thanks, Dennis. I do count 14 magnets around the inside of the can. I was counting the wrong thing. I was starting to feel "pole envy" vis a vis other motors with 14 poles. And now I can enter the correct info into the ESC.

...and in a former life I did EXACTLY what you did and counted the commutator trees. HB~>
What really threw me was the old Brodak (red) motor with 10 magnets!

Hi Dennis:
Looking at the map I see you are a farm boy! My dad was raised on a farm in Niles, not that far from where you live. His sister ran a dairy farm there till she was 93. Virtually the whole family is still there. My dad shipped out to the Pacific during WWII through San Francisco and said, "When this thing is over, I'm moving here!" Which is why I live in NorCal instead of MidWest.
