Title: Hoby King G series (Easy Match) motors
Post by: Horby on October 01, 2014, 01:00:58 PM
Is any one using the easy match Hobby King motors? I just got a G15 I am going to see how it compares to my E-Flight. So far I have over 100 flighs on my E-flight with out an issue. (Front mount)

Cheers,

I have been using a G25 in my 66 oz. Cosmic wind with no problems. The G series has fewer poles the E-flight, so governor settings will be different.

I tried a G25 a couple weeks ago and was too fast with the same ESC setting I used on the AXI 2826/10.  What settings are used for the G25?

We have used the G15 it is ok, but we like the Tacon from hobby parts better, the 15 and the 25 are the same weight. So we have started using the 25, and it is 172g.

I noticed the wire gauge was stiffer and different as compared to the E-Flite motors. I have had two G25's go bad, and ended up replacing them with the E-Flite E25

There is also a very slight bolt hole pattern difference between the two mounts

I liked the quality better on the E-Flite motors and have since stopped buying the G series motors

I just had a day of flying on my primary force with a G15 and a 55A Trust esc.
It ran flawless, the battery didn't get warm, the motor was cool on a 3min flight.
The  battery used was a 4s 2800, and I had to put 1000mA back in.
I was using a 11x 5.5 at 9650 rpm at 5 sec laps on 58' lines. I have to say I was impressed by the esc and motor. For the price you can't beat them.

I managed to fly my PF on the full pattern before the winter set in. I am sold on the Easy Match motors. The power consumption is low, power is great and works every bit as good as the higher priced equipment the others I fly with. Next season will be the litmus test when I start using my set up hard with practicing and competition.
