We do not toss Jim Lee's name around very often in the electric forum, but he reecently made me a special version of his nose ring sander for an electric motor. For those who have never seen it, Jim's sander is designed to slip over the crank shaft on an engine, then you just go twist back and forth to get a perfect dead-true surface to mount the nose ring on. Since electric motor shafts do not stick out very far it would be better if the pilot for the sander would stick out a little too. My request to Jim was for a sander with an insert with a 5mm hole shaft that would project forward and align with the motor shaft. The pix offers the proverbial 1000 words.
EDIT: I should have noted: in pix 1 you can see where I marked the front end with ink marks prior to sanding. Pix 3 is a work in progress shot, showing that the upper corner was off square by the most.I sanded til the lines mostly disappeared
In the "never say never dept, I also asked Jim to supply me with a second insert that would fit a 1/4-28 motor shaft. You know, just in case...
Lee Machine Shop is in the vendors section, suggest you drop Jim a note if you are interested.
