Title: Generator
Post by: John Rist on November 27, 2017, 09:07:04 AM
Sam's club has a sale on 800/1000 generators.  At $159 + tax it makes a very cheep source of field charging power.

I got one of the $89 900 watt 2 stroke gen sets from Harbor Freight a few years back

As long as you read the reviews and find the recoil starter is weak...then you learn NOT to PULL full rope length to start...just a few short quick pulls....

These are frequently on sale and free shipping and coupons.....yadda yadda

Charges bats, does well with heat gun and soldering iron

Not whisper quiet like some $2000 Honda versions but tolerable at a flying field

The advantage of this one is that it a 4 cycle.  No oil gas mixture to mess with.  However it looks like it is sold out for now.
