If I may. In the video, the motor changes RPM much too slow. The corner would be done by the time the motor ramps up in speed, etc. I would expect much, much faster response.

The "response time" can be set with the programming box.
It is not perfect, now.
I still have to work on it.

No, the plan was to get constant speed with changing position.

Doesn't look like it could work with that setting. As Crist has mentioned.. it is responding way too slow. and also the rpm range is too extreme on acceleration and deceleration. What ESC are you using?

I used the extreme settings, deliberately.
I can set it very differently.
It works with any type of esc, appropriately changing the setting.
However I'm not going to sell it.
I thought, when it is ready to publish the schematics and programming code.
If you do not care, it's not a problem.

On a personal note : All four of my grandparents emigrated from Italy between 1901-1905.
They never gave up on any task. Same with their children.
I would encourage him the same even if he came from another country.

hhhhmmmmmmm I like the way it manages the throttle (if you will) during the testing and flight videos.
very reminiscent of my F3A days back in the 90's.
Acts pretty much the same way as my left thumb on the throttle.
I like it.

The goal is to make a timer that works with any type of ESC, even without a governor.

I don't know Orentano, but I lived in Panzano in Chianti in 1974-75. Scratch-built a Goldberg Shoestring Stunter while living there. Brought it home to California and still have it. I recall an excellent hobby shop in Firenze that had everything. No flat areas to fly control line models in the hills of Toscana, lucky you live in the flat area close to Lucca. I have been back to Tuscany many times since then, wish I was there now.

Thanks for the reply. Just looking at the map and saying the names of the towns makes me want to go to the airport and take the next flight. Like so many people I truly love la bella Toscana. I need to improve my terrible Italiano before returning, my fluency has gotten really bad. No practice for the last 10 years. I attended school in Firenze (Universita degli Studi), studying Roman and Etruscan history.
Keep up the good work on your timer, it looks very promising.

Is it me or do I hear motor variation in RPM kind of like it is not sure whether to go high or low and it bounces back and forth? It does it a lot less that in the first video. I thought that you had a better flight in the first video at lower speed.

In the previous video I used an esc Jeti spin pro 44.
In this video I use a ZTW Beatles 40A.
I wanted to try a low cost esc, indisputably Jeti works better, but it is not indispensable.
About the flight, consider that I'm not a big pilot ... :-)

In the second video, the lap times seem faster than the first video. Do you think the ZTW ESC did not respond to the PWM changes as good as the Jeti Spin? I have been experimenting with some ESCs and some are just junk for us and some work great.

Igor Burger has mentioned that for his system with the accelerometer, the Jeti Spin has the fastest response. For the amount of throttle modulation going on in the accelerometer equipped systems, a fast ESC response definitely seems a necessary requirement.
I would imagine the ZTW Beatles ESC would be fine for simpler timers and for use with the KR Timer which does more "thinking" than the ESC itself.
